Main ContentAcademic Accommodations
The Office for Student Success manages academic accommodations at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC).
UMMC is committed to ensuring equal access to a quality education for qualified students through the provision of reasonable academic accommodations which support UMMC standards and academic integrity. UMMC policy provides for reasonable academic accommodations to be made for students with verified disabilities on an individualized and flexible basis as specified under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA).
UMMC provides reasonable academic accommodations to students who request accommodations and who meet eligibility criteria. See the steps below for the process of academic accommodations at UMMC:
STEP 1 - Students must be admitted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Note: Students in the School of Pharmacy should apply for academic accommodations through the University of Mississippi, Oxford campus.
STEP 2 - Students should review the Documentation Guidelines for Academic Accommodations.
STEP 3 - Students must complete a Request for Academic Accommodations found below, which includes documentation from a licensed health care professional (e.g., physician, psychologist). The completed documentation should be submitted to the Office for Student Success.

Service Animals
Students with disabilities may be accompanied by working service animals on the campus of UMMC consistent with the provisions of UMMC Policy. Students are encouraged but not required to register service dogs with the Office for Student Success for access to resources, information, and advocacy around a range of disability-related dynamics, including service animals. Registration is required for any student who wishes to use a miniature horse in UMMC facilities. For more information or to register a service animal, please refer to the webpage for Students and Service Animals.
